"I'm thrilled to find this as I'm descended from John Wilkinson, father of Thomas, who was the father of my great-great-grandmother, Lucinda Wilkinson Merrill. I do have a question regarding the Civil War information and the person listed as Thomas W. Wilkinson. I'm wondering if this is an error and is really supposed to be Thomas M. Wilkinson, my ancestor. He was indeed taken prisoner; according to Andersonville records, he was taken on Dec. 26 at Okolona, MS. This is very close to Ripley, MS, which is listed in your book as the location where Thomas W. was captured. (It's about an hour's drive from Okolona). This seems like it's too much to be coincidental. (Here is my source: http://www.andersonvillepowcamp.com/index.php?page=directory&rec=33286). This source lists him as Thomas M. Wilkinson.

I'm very much looking forward to learning more about Madison County. Thanks for compiling all this information!"
