Old School Grit Times May Change But the Rules for Success Never Do Sports for the Soul Volume 2 Darrin Donnelly 9780692816424 Books Reviews
- I am really enjoying this book. It is easy to read, I love the story, and I can pick the book up at any page and get some motivation to move forward to achieve my goals. It is a great book to help me stay motivated and in control of my sport destiny. It inspires me to live up to my own standards and that is what I appreciate most about it. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to gain motivation and create more momentum toward goal achievement.
- It is a very good experience to read this book since it feels like you are sitting with an old coach sharing his wisdom about the old and days and the present. It is very "conversational" in my opinion, and some people might want a more direct approach to knowledge. If you enjoy the anecdotical approach, this book will please you. If you want a succinct account of grit, this might not be a good read for you.
- Love the approach of this story! It's a refreshing way to read a self help book. It's to the point and leaves me wanting more.
We follow a Coach on his last run. He uses journal messages to teach us lessons and gives us motivation that can be used in our everyday lives. This book is the second in the Sports for the Soul series and each one has given me a fresh perspective to live my life to my full potential.
Would definitely recommend! - It’s the perfect book to teach a Pre Teen how to create their own success and confidence. Easy to read. Darrin Donnelly has 4 of these “Sports for the soul†books. Read them all.
- I've enjoyed reading this book with my 12 year old son. We've had great conversations around the timeless lessons presented in the story. I'd recommend this book to any parent trying to instill a can-do attitude in their children.
- I actually liked the first book better but this is definitely close and nearly as good as that one. I love the way he writes. I love the stories. They aren’t just sports books but they are good sports books if that is what you want. Highly recommend both of his first two. They only took me a day each.
- Fantastic read, my mind kept drifting to those coaches who filled the mentor role for me. I could picture then saying similar things
- Old School Grit provides simple tried and true steps to climb the ladder toward excellence. This book is a must read for student-athletes, coaches and anyone wanting to learn what it takes to separate you from the pack.
